Supplementary question
If I have an AMD-64 compatible CPU, what reasons exist for installing
IA32 anything?
These days, very little. Used to be the case that, for e.g., it was
tough to get plugins in Firefox working well in x86-64, especially
Flash, and
OpenOffice.org didn't used to work as an x86-64 native build.
Just about the only significant app now that needs to be run x86-32 is
wine...
