I tried installing F11 Alpha (network install via FTP URL) without
using the rawhide repo during installation. Updating to rawhide fails
with tons of rpm/cpio errors. Trying to update only rpm itself on a
freshly installed Alpha also fails (and corrupts the rpm db).
Then I tried again with the rawhide repo enabled. The installation
finished, but I got a system with no rpm, bash or kernel. I could not
coax the missing parts in by mounting the broken F11 partition on a
working F10 system.
Should one wish to test rawhide, how would one install it?

For my stranded rawhide system, on the advice of folks in #fedora-devel,
I went to
http://kojipkgs.fedoraproject.org/packages/rpm/4.6.0/8.fc11/
and manually grabbed those versions of rpm, rpm -Uvh'd them, and then
all was well.
