Yum is being fixed so that yum makecache overrides the timeout and
repulls metadata.
Would it be sufficient to let those people who want to be sure they
have security updates asap to run yum makecache before doing update
operations?
Why not make timeout be different for updates? A very small, reasonable
number, like 10m?
