to resume:
1)no way to start in graphic login
2) if i boot with a F12 Kernel, startx works and I can have the graphic
environment (with some glitches, i.e no wallpaper, resource menu not
working...)
3) with F13 kernel, startx doesn't make me enter the graphic
environment, I get only an arrow on a blank screen...
First of all... get to runlevel 3 (text console).
At the grub screen, edit the boot line - add "3" to the end of the
kernel line (with a leading space).
When you get the text console and login, edit /etc/inittab and change
the default runlevel to 3.
