Hi, have you tried:
1. disable transparent background in gnome-terminal
That was already disabled.
2. disable font aliasing in appearance settings
I didn't see a font aliasing option:
appearance preferences ->fonts has these settings:
application font: sans
document font: sans
desktop font: sans
window title font: sans bold
fixed width font: monospace

None (I tried this and it didn't help)
