Actually I already maintain the official snort RPM's, so I was curious
what's being done with it, and don't mind doing one that will fit both
needs. I will take a look. Thanks!

Snort is available at
http://fedora.us in the "testing" repository,and
a newer version is in the package queue, waiting for reviews and QA
approval. Please take a look, evaluate the package and add any
comments:

You could even talk to the current packager in case you'd like to take
over the snort packages.
