I need some information on what is hanging where, then. On my system, -2
100% fixed a very reproducible hang after hitting Enter in the password
entry.
You may be seeing something else that I cannot reproduce.
How can we help track this down? Is the problem happening before or
after gnome-session is launched? Would it help to trace
/etc/gdm/Xsession?
