Why should an authoritative list of official Fedora mirrors have to live

Debian has had an equivalent list for years, and Debian is paranoid
about following the law and licences.
Thats not what Don suggested. Don suggested some authoritative list of
repositories, as in Fedora and 3rd party repositories where one might
find software for Fedora Core releases. A Fedora Core/Extras mirror
list could certainly be listed within Fedora space, in fact a small one
is at
http://fedora.redhat.com/download/mirrors.html .
