Whoops, right. So the perms aren't being set right.
In F11 this is done by the HAL acl support. This has moved to udev-extras
for Fedora 12, and that's likely what's not working.
Yeah, there's some problems currently between pulseaudio, CK and udev
wrt. to ACLs. See

If that is your problem, joining the audio group should work as a
workaround.
