Hello,
Yesterday I upgraded my eeepc from F12 to F13, using preupgrade.
Everything went fine, apart from the fact that it booted into the
installer, and the grub menu never showed up :) After some trouble
trying to fix things through the installer shell, I finally managed to
boot into the system by adding a proper section to my grub.conf.
I've updated the system, and noticed that a newer kernel was
installed, but it never went to grub.conf. This doesn't happen on my
other F13 systems (all upgraded quite earlier). This should be a bug,
right?
In the meantime, I've installed a non-PAE kernel on this machine, as
PAE isn't really needed (this is an eeepc after all...). This time the
kernel did go to my grub.conf, so this may have been already fixed on
the updates (or a quirk).
Cheers,
Renato
