I installed xorg-x11-drv-nv-2.1.6-3.fc9 from koji and that fixed the
problem.

generally speaking:
why does a package stay in development repo if is sure that is causing
troubles??? and not replaced with older version before a fix is
ready???
In my case gdm is a good example...my two cents
