Does this happen if you're using nouveau?
FWIW, I have other problems that occur prior to this. First, I get
an error
about not being able to load the nvidia driver in Xorg.0.log (get around
that by modprobing it as root), then I get an error about not being able to
access the virtual console (get around that by chmod'ing g+rw,o+rw
/dev/tty[0-9]* as root, don't know why I suddently have to do this but it's
the only thing that is working), *THEN*, once those are cleared up, I get to
this point. I'm definitely confused as to what I've done to get myself to
this point.
What does "dmesg | grep -i secure" show on this machine? Are you
getting any SELinux denials that would cause this?
