wants to play something, the alsa module
is initialized (I guess), causing this "popping noise".
Well, in this case it's the ALSA device being opened, since PulseAudio
releases the ALSA device after a short idle period. You should probably
seek further advice from an ALSA resource, since this is at the ALSA
level.
