dbus-cxx-0.1.2-1.fc11 (FEDORA-2009-5762)
C++ bindings for the DBus library
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update Information:
This release fixes a few minor bugs. The generator now uses the ::DBus::
namespace rather than DBus:: to allow the use of the namespace DBus in other
nested hierarchies without ambiguity. The m4 generated files have also been
cleaned up to eliminate several no-op compiler warnings. The documentation has
been updated to reflect the fact that dbus-cxx is now available in Fedora
directly and also includes a short synopsis on dbus-cxx-xml2cpp. Finally, an
autoconf macro has been added (ax_dbus_cxx_xml2cpp.m4) to streamline using dbus-
cxx-xml2cpp in downstream projects.

pane to be used to represent elements in Denemo. Elements can be dragged in this
frame and the drag applied to the element in Denemo - WYSIWYG comes to Denemo! *
General Edit Object action. By default right click edits any object, including
the clef, time signature and key signature; also staff and score directives are
editable by a right click at the start of the staff/score. * Background printing
to print preview window and to viewer.

dssi-1.0.0-1.fc11 (FEDORA-2009-5747)
Disposable Soft Synth Interface
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update Information:
* Added manpages (thanks to Mark Hymers and Debian!) * Freshening URLs, etc.,
for 2009. * Small dssi_osc_update fixes. * Implemented the 'sample-rate' OSC
method in both jack-dssi-host and the example plugins, and described it in
RFC.txt. * jack-dssi-host: changed to use jack_client_open() instead of
deprecated jack_client_new() (requires jack >=0.99.14). * jack-dssi-host:
fixed audio output port connection to avoid JACK MIDI ports. * Example
plugins: use gcc/glibc 'constructor' and 'destructor' attributes instead of the
deprecated _init() and _fini() functions (needed for OS X 10.4 'Tiger'). *
Multiple clarifications in RFC.txt: configure, program, and control OSC
messages are not echoed back to the originator; argv[0] supplied to the UI
should include the full path (all existing hosts do this, to the best of my
knowledge); eliminated some inconsistency between use of 'PLUGINS' and
'MYPLUGINS' in examples. * Add another simple example -- the basic Karplus and
Strong synth.

dssi-vst-0.8-2.fc11 (FEDORA-2009-5791)
VST plugins host
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update Information:
dssi-vst is an adapter that allows users of Linux audio software to take VST
and VSTi audio effects and instrument plugins compiled for Windows, and load
them into native LADSPA or DSSI plugin hosts. Plugins run at full speed for
most audio processing, although their user interfaces are slower because of the
Windows emulation.

fluidsynth-dssi-1.0.0-1.fc11 (FEDORA-2009-5725)
DSSI implementation of Fluidsynth
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update Information:
* Bug fix from James McDermott for the broken-nwrite_float code in fluidsynth-
dssi.c when used with unusual sample counts. * Added '-test' option to
FluidSynth-DSSI_gtk.c to allow testing the GUI without a host. * Fixed to use
gcc/glibc 'constructor' and 'destructor' attributes instead of the deprecated
_init() and _fini() functions (needed for OS X 10.4 'Tiger'). * Added code in
FluidSynth-DSSI_gtk.c to silently ignore the 'sample-rate' method. * Updated
code, patch, and docs to match Josh Green's FluidSynth CVS commit of 20050607.

pptp-1.7.2-6.fc11 (FEDORA-2009-5785)
Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol (PPTP) Client
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update Information:
This update removes the checking in pptpsetup for MPPE support in the kernel and
pppd when creating a tunnel, since MPPE is included out of the box in Fedora 11.
The checks required the "strings" program, and hence would fail if the binutils
package (which includes the "strings" program) was not installed.

ChangeLog:
* Mon Jun 1 2009 Paul Howarth <paul(a)city-fan.org> 1.7.2-6

the host does not support these features. For example, this should fix problems
with booting guests on host machines which lack NX support.

dbus-cxx-0.1.2-1.fc10 (FEDORA-2009-5719)
C++ bindings for the DBus library
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update Information:
This release fixes a few minor bugs. The generator now uses the ::DBus::
namespace rather than DBus:: to allow the use of the namespace DBus in other
nested hierarchies without ambiguity. The m4 generated files have also been
cleaned up to eliminate several no-op compiler warnings. The documentation has
been updated to reflect the fact that dbus-cxx is now available in Fedora
directly and also includes a short synopsis on dbus-cxx-xml2cpp. Finally, an
autoconf macro has been added (ax_dbus_cxx_xml2cpp.m4) to streamline using dbus-
cxx-xml2cpp in downstream projects.

dssi-1.0.0-1.fc10 (FEDORA-2009-5761)
Disposable Soft Synth Interface
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update Information:
* Added manpages (thanks to Mark Hymers and Debian!) * Freshening URLs, etc.,
for 2009. * Small dssi_osc_update fixes. * Implemented the 'sample-rate' OSC
method in both jack-dssi-host and the example plugins, and described it in
RFC.txt. * jack-dssi-host: changed to use jack_client_open() instead of
deprecated jack_client_new() (requires jack >=0.99.14). * jack-dssi-host:
fixed audio output port connection to avoid JACK MIDI ports. * Example
plugins: use gcc/glibc 'constructor' and 'destructor' attributes instead of the
deprecated _init() and _fini() functions (needed for OS X 10.4 'Tiger').

Possible bug with issuing sync from two open terminals
by Leslie S Satenstein
With an 8 gig flash drive (as a regular user), onto which I was copying about 6.8 gig. When the copy was over, I opened two gnome terminals, to do some work and issued the sync command from one terminal. I then happened to switch to the second terminal and instead of waiting for the first sync command to complete, issued the sync command a second time.
Either there was something wrong with the flash drive, or something else is wrong, but I noted that issuing the second sync command from the second terminal while the fist sync command was being executed resulted in the corruption of the flash drive file system (fat32). Does the sync command serialize it's operation?
So. I am wondering if anyone else had experienced this situation. Usually, I would issue the umount command to flush the buffers for the drive so I could unmount it. But this time I wanted to keep the drive mounted.
All source files are intact on EXT3 file systems.

hp-setup error (missing Qt4)
by David L
When I try to run hp-setup in f11, I get this output:
hp-setup

error: Unable to load Qt4 support. Is it installed?
Is there a dependency problem with hplip?

[WAAAAAY OT] can't build openembedded/angstrom on f11
by Robert P. J. Day
this is massively off-topic but i'm hoping someone's bored enough to
take a look. i have a beagleboard:
http://beagleboard.org
and am trying to build the angstrom OS for it. the build (using the
openembedded (OE) build utility) should be fairly straightforward but
trying this under my current 64-bit install of f11 preview fails each
time thusly:
... snip ...
ccache gcc
-isystem/home/rpjday/oe/angstrom-dev/staging/x86_64-linux/usr/include
-O2 -Wunused -Wall -static
-L/home/rpjday/oe/angstrom-dev/staging/x86_64-linux/usr/lib
-Wl,-rpath-link,/home/rpjday/oe/angstrom-dev/staging/x86_64-linux/usr/lib
-Wl,-rpath,/home/rpjday/oe/angstrom-dev/staging/x86_64-linux/usr/lib
-Wl,-O1 -o insmod.static insmod.o
mv -f .deps/tables.Tpo .deps/tables.Po
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lc
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make: *** [insmod.static] Error 1
make: *** Waiting for unfinished jobs....
modinfo.c: In function 'main':
modinfo.c:338: warning: 'infosize' may be used uninitialized in this
function
mv -f .deps/modinfo.Tpo .deps/modinfo.Po
make: *** wait: No child processes. Stop.
FATAL: oe_runmake failed
i've documented, step by step, what i did here:
http://www.crashcourse.ca/wiki/index.php/Angstrom#Building_Angstrom_from_...
and it's frustrating since others have reported normal success (some
running under fedora 8). i have no idea why i keep getting this error
-- maybe it's related to running 64-bit, i don't know. others are
building just fine under other distros as well, so i'm baffled.
thoughts? at this point, i'm really open to suggestions. if you've
never played with openembedded, here's your chance. :-)

Greasemonkey script unified and updated
by Matej Cepl
With the recent breakage of the Bugzappers Greasemonkey script (https://
fedoraproject.org/wiki/BugZappers/Tools) by the upgrade of the bugzilla
bug page, I have taken the opportunity the clean up the thing. So,
a) there is now one and only Greasemonkey script for everybody, and it
resides directly in the triage repository on fedorahosted.org site
(http://git.fedorahosted.org/git/?p=triage.git;a=blob_plain;f=scripts/
bugzillaBugTriage.user.js;hb=HEAD). Don't accept any substitutes!
b) There is no need for separate signature script; actually ANY other
Greasemonkey script I have ever done for the Red Hat bugzilla (and there
were few) is subsumed in the current one, and before installing the new
one all other should be uninstalled.
c) Any complaints or requests for enhancements of the scripts, or other
comments should be directed to me.

RC2 Anaconda kickstart RAID bug now has an LVM twin
by Allen Kistler
Having hammered on the issue of Anaconda not being able to reuse RAID in
kickstart, I had suspicions about LVM.
Once again anaconda on the F11-rc2 DVD loses a config that F11-preview
handled just fine with kickstart.
I collected the RC2 logs and posted them to BZ #503681, along with their
Preview counterparts. I haven't read them myself, but I suspect they
contain something similar to the RAID case, since they look so similar.
i.e., Anaconda doesn't really lose the info. It never collects it in
the first place.
Since including the RAID bug in the F11 Common Bugs wiki page was okay,
I added the LVM bug. They're pretty much twins, as I said in the
subject. My impression (thoroughly subjective) is that more people use
LVM than use RAID, so this bug might get noticed more than the RAID bug,
too.
