Please enter a release note for mod_fcgid
by Bruno Wolff III
When I yum updated to F11, httpd kept stopping. I found this was a new
requirement that the directory /var/run/httpd/mod_fcgid exist and it
was not created in the update process.
It wasn't too hard to find once I went to the trouble to track it down, but
it might be nice to give people a heads up about it in the release notes.
(I took a look and didn't see anything about it in the current version of
the release notes.)

libmicrohttpd-0.4.0-1.fc10 (FEDORA-2009-1724)
Lightweight library for embedding a webserver in applications
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update Information:
- Update to version 0.4.0 - This version introduces a API bump (which is
required for supporting large files on 32bit environments) - The license
issues we had with version 0.3.1 of this package (as discussed in #457924) are
resolved in this version. The license of this package is now changed to LGPLv2+
- Added a patch to fix two testcases on 64bit environments (upstream bug #1454)
Upstream release notes: As you know, Sagie Amir has been working to get SSL/TLS
support added to libmicrohttpd. After seeing a decent number of complex tests
pass I'm now reasonably confident that SSL/TLS-support is working sufficiently
well for a general release. Furthermore, quite a few minor bugs (some of which
were reported to the list here) have also been fixed in the meantime. Note
that the last one of the bugfixes --- adding 64-bit support for 32-bit
platforms --- breaks backwards-compatibility. Changes to clients using
libmicrohttpd should be minimal (most clients will need to change an "unsigned
int" to a "size_t" and a "size_t" to an "uint64_t" in the arguments of two
callbacks).
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ChangeLog:
* Sat Feb 14 2009 Erik van Pienbroek <info(a)nntpgrab.nl> - 0.4.0-1
- Update to version 0.4.0

Grub timer doesnt commence
by Joseph L. Casale
In F11 alpha, grub never commences its timeout of 5 seconds, it just waits.
I checked bugzilla and didn't see anything, anyone know about this, or should
I file it?
Thanks!

[Fwd: Re: Bringing smolt to the next level..]
by "Jóhann B. Guðmundsson"
Decide to start a separated thread from "F11 Xorg/Mesa/DRI testing proposal"
about improving smolt and share a conversation that me and Mike had
about ideas which were about improving smolt which came out of
me and John<some number> had been tossing ideas back and forth on the
Fedora QA channel
It would be good continue bouncing ideas about smolt improvements on
this thread.

F11 Alpha and Intel 3100 performance
by Joseph L. Casale
The performance of the Intel 3100 graphics chipset under F10 was acceptable for media/casual use
but after deploying F11 it crawls. Is there anything I can do to improve this?
Thanks!

Bug Triage Meeting continued
by TK009
continuing the discussion from the last triage meeting ...
The meeting recap and IRC transcript can be found here:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/BugZappers/Meetings/Minutes-2009-Feb-10
adamw wrote as a follow on to the meeting recap-
"We really need ASAP a simple set of goals that can be easily and quickly
measured (preferably by anyone)."
I fully agree.
I thought the goal of x number of bugs triaged may be to simplistic a goal for the veteran triagers, however no other specific and measurable alternative has been purposed that I am aware. I would like to hear from other triagers and anyone else that would like to provide input.
Is committing to triage x number of bugs against targeted components on the new Core Component List [http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/BugZappers/components] a worthy goal for the triage team to set for themselves in the current development cycle?
Will this goal achieve the meaningful, measurable and timely contribution the triage team want to have on F11?
I think x number of bugs commitment is a worthy goal, and with the metric reports comphappy is creating, the team, the project and the community can keep informed of the progress in achieving those goals.
My hope is that we can finalize this as our specific goal before the meeting Tuesday, so anyone with something they feel needs to be said please say it. Now is the time and this is the place. *looks at poelcat, jds2001, mcepl, john5342, comphappy, quantumburnz, affix, SMParrish, facmi, stickster, douda, TopoMorto*
Adamw, brother someone must have erased your name from the active triagers list, I don't see it on there (hint, hint) =). And iarlyy, I see you lurking.
This wont work without you, so please provide some feedback on this.
Something I forgot to add to the meeting recap is comphappy's request to finalize the format and what data should be presented in the metrics reports.
My idea's on this if I understand correctly
display all time top ten triagers and # of bugs traiged
display top 15 triagers for the week and month complete stats
list of all triagers with complete stats
again, please provide feedback on this.
In response to adamw's follow up on Bug Triage Days-
I have no experience with it, but thought it was a great idea. I read on poelcat's blog I think, about an experience he had with a bug triage day. It was uncoordinated and lacked focus or a real goal. A specific goal should be set for each triage day, giving those involved a sense focus with measurable achievement. Maybe poelcat will give up the link, he explained it much better.
