What's with ImageTk?
by Chuck Forsberg WA7KGX
I was trying to compile and run the ham radio WSJT
program. It requires ImageTk which is missing in
Rawhide's Python.
A bit of Googling suggests this has been issue
since at least Fedora 7.
Is there some reason this Python module is available
for Ubuntu but not Fedora?

Anybody can install also pidgin, xchat or some other client, that is not
the point.
The point is that by default official Fedora Desktop Live CD will have
one feature less than the previous release.

Keyboard layout not sticky.
by Erik P. Olsen
I've build a rawhide system as of 09oct09. I've set the default language to
English(UK) and the keyboard layout to Danish. Much to my surprise the
layout was was set to English(US) at the first reboot after the build. I
loged out and changed the layout back to Danish. But at the next boot it was
back to English(US).
What can I do to make it stick to Danish?

mouse pointer invisible since updates 08-10-09
by martin tack
Hello ,
Finally I can start X again ,but only by first going to innit 3.
This is already a long going problem ,for witch I have searched and probed
about everything possible in last 3 weeks.
Gdm is still not coming up when booting "normal way" .
And now ,since updates yesterday , the mouse pointer is there ,but invisible
.
Graphics card is ATI 9250 and os F12 x86_64.
If more info is wanted ,please let my know.
Is this a known bug ?
Greetings

2009-10-08 - RAID Test Day report
by James Laska
Many thanks to participants of the RAID test day held this past Thursday
[1]. With Liam's guidance, we also had a list of RAID test cases
designed to target real world scenarios. Not only did this event help
exercise these code paths in the installer, but helped to shake out
kinks in the test cases.
Also, thanks to Hans De Goede for providing updated live images and for
his help configuring an existing system to present BIOS RAID devices. I
too can enjoy the world of dmraid! The following bug reports were noted
in the Test Day wiki:
527913 NEW - DeviceTreeError: duplicate paths in device tree
527952 NEW - AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'disk'
498026 NEW - RuntimeError: Returning partitions to state prior to edit failed

522609 MODIFIED - AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'startswith'
528051 CLOSED NEXTRELEASE - Exception: device-mapper: create ioctl failed: Device or resource busy
527961 CLOSED DUPLICATE - Anaconda doesn't save partition binding to disk
527991 CLOSED DUPLICATE - Editing existing partition results in - The mountpoint '/' is in use. Please pick another
528017 CLOSED DUPLICATE - Rescue unable to mount system on bios raid
527995 CLOSED NOTABUG - Problem measuring available size when 4 RAID partitions are on one volume - fourth partition is smaller than the others

lshal and DeviceKit?
by Tom Horsley
When I wrote my "mountie" program to provide a sane alternative
to the annoying automount behavior in nautilus, I used hal
queries to enumerate devices because that seemed like the
"right way" (I suspect the primary motivation to toss hal
and switch to DeviceKit was to mess up my program :-).
Anyway, the "lshal" program was very useful during development.
Both as example source code that queried hal and to see the
names of all the attributes I wanted to query.
What is the equivalent DeviceKit utility to lshal? I can't
seem to find any DeviceKit command line utilities that don't
require cryptic arguments I don't understand.
Or does that hal dbus interface continue to work forever,
with merely the information being gathered behind the
scenes differently? (In which case "lshal" is the equivalent
to "lshal"?)
