Description: Why3 is the next generation of the Why software verification
platform. Why3 clearly separates the purely logical specification part from
generation of verification conditions for programs. It features a rich library
of proof task transformations that can be chained to produce a suitable input
for a large set of theorem provers, including SMT solvers, TPTP provers, as
well as interactive proof assistants.
Fedora note: while why3 is the eventual successor to the existing why package,
right now both are needed. The current version of why can be used by itself,
but if why3 is also installed, some of its more powerful reasoning features can
be used. On the flip side, why3 isn't yet complete. Upstream recommends that
the two versions be used side by side for now.
