kqemu inclusion in kernel
by Christopher Brown
Hi folks,
I've started playing around with virtualization at work and the first thing
I'd like to query is kqemu's lack of inclusion in the Fedora kernel. It was
GPL'd in February and although I realise Axel is packaging kmdl/kmods it
would be good to know if this is being queued up for mainline. If not then
can it be backported for Fedora kernels. If that is not possible then can it
be moved into the default repos to save users (me) bolting on another repo
(no offence Axel).
Please forgive dual list posting but I know DJ reads the kernel list and
might want to comment whereas I'm not sure AT does. And vice versa.
Regards
Chris

typo in new spec file (F7)
by Sam Folk-Williams
Hi,
I noticed this in the kernel-2.6.22.1-33.fc7.src.rpm spec file as I was
revising the kernel build docs:
#% define buildid .local
Just need to remove that space before 'define', otherwise we get the
following after uncommenting.
error: line 15: Unknown tag: % define buildid .local

I would still like to see kmod packages entirely deprecated in Fedora.
If you want to maintain that kernel code and ship it with the 'Fedora'
brand on it, why don't we just give you commit access to the kernel
package? We can trust you to limit yourself to just those areas, and we
can trivially disable your patch(es) if it gets in the way of progress.
We've done precisely that kind of thing before (including for bcm43xx
before that got merged). There's just no need for separate packages.

f7/rawhide utrace
by Roland McGrath
The mondo powerpc update upstream today will take some substantial merging
and rejiggery work, and I might do something different tonight instead.
If you rebase rawhide before I get there, you will hit trouble. The
conflicts outside powerpc are simple.
I made a 2.6.22/ backport from the 2.6-current patches (probably same set
now in rawhide). That should do fine for f7.
Thanks,
Roland
