Hello,
attached patches add support for not only displaying error messages by echo but also log
via syslog.
This allows messages to be inspected also from logs e.g. after boot process.
There is a new function echo_log() in /etc/rc.d/init.d/function which takes 3 arguments -
syslog priority,
syslog tag and message.
Another two patches change network-scripts/ifup* and network-scripts/ifdown* to use this
function instead of simple
echo.
.error priority is used when scripts ends with exit 1 otherwise .info priority is used.
Regards,
Petr
