--- Comment #77 from Stas Sergeev <stsp(a)list.ru> ---
(In reply to Mike FABIAN from comment #67)
I have not yet made that keybinding configurable, but in
ibus-table-1.9.0 at least the input mode (e.g. rusle or direct
keyboard input) is shown in the input source indicator in the Gnome3
panel.
Looks like this if when in table mode for rusle:
☑Р
and like this if it is in direct input mode:
☐Р
Come on, Mike, what have you done? :)
It indeed looks exactly like the above, i.e. a
check-box with P, instead of RU!
Well, let me say it is absolutely impossible.
If you change RU, to which we all got used to
for ages (in every OS!), to some P with checkbox,
no one will ever appreciate that.
Not to mention that this check-box is huge, bigger
than P itself! And it can't be checked with mouse.
Let me propose RU. vs RU (i.e. use dot after RU as
an indicator) if you firmly resist to just remove
the entire thing.
IMHO the entire thing can be implemented much better.
My current assumption is that this all is needed
for some chineese, who may want to add just CN
and get all 30 layouts. Maybe this can be done as
some kind of dependencies? Eg, he adds the CN and
gets the list of check-boxes with all the layouts
he may need. He can uncheck a few he won't need
and click OK. And this will add all the needed
engines for him, at ibus level, rather than at
per-engine level. Likewise, the Russian will add
RU and get a list with a single entry - EN. But,
as EN is usually always added initially, he'll get
no dep list at all.
