--- Comment #53 from Mike FABIAN <mfabian(a)redhat.com> ---
Another thing I forgot:
ibus-anthy and ibus-kkc have more input modes then just “Japanese”
and “Direct input”. They have several Japanese modes (“Hiragana”,
“Katakana”, “Halfwidth Katakana”) and several Latin modes
(“Halfwidth English letters and numbers”, “Fullwidth English
letters and numbers”, “Direct Input”).
I.e. ibus-anthy and ibus-kkc have special modes to enter fullwidth
Latin text.
(This is fullwidth Latin text 123).
ibus-table however has only “Table mode” and “Direct input”. If
the table is Chinese, options for halfwidth and fullwidth are enabled
though (disabled for non-Chinese tables like “rusle”) and they
are usable in “Direct mode” as well.
That means the “Direct mode” of ibus-table is not really completely
direct, it can be abused to type fullwidth Latin by switching
to “Direct mode” *and* switching to fullwidth.
Maybe it would be nicer if ibus-table had a special fullwith Latin
mode and the “Direct mode” were really always direct, just like
ibus-anthy and ibus-kkc. So maybe I’ll make this more like ibus-anthy
and ibus-kkc later.
