--- Comment #49 from Mike FABIAN <mfabian(a)redhat.com> ---
(In reply to Stas Sergeev from comment #48)
I mean, there are the configurable short-cuts
to select between EN and RU, so why also the
hardcoded one?
Selecting between US English keyboard ("en") and ibus-table "rusle"
("ru")
is switching from one ibus-input engine to another.
So that is an ibus shortcut.
Switching within ibus-table between "table mode" and "direct input"
does not switch to a different input engine, it is still ibus-table.
This is completely within ibus-table. Some ibus input engines have their
own keyboard shortcuts for internal things. ibus itself doesn’t know about
these, therefore they do not appear in the gnome-control-center.
You can try the Japanese ibus engines 'anthy' or 'kkc' (= 'Kanji
Kana')
for example, the both have quite a lot of keyboard shortcuts.
When you switch to 'anthy' or 'kkc' and then open their setup tool,
you will find a tab where these keyboard shortcuts are listed and
can be changed.
ibus-table has far fewer keyboard shortcuts than 'anthy' and 'kkc' and
unfortunately they are all hardcoded and not changeable in the setup
tool. Nobody ever implemented making the keyboard shortcuts
configurable in ibus-table.
I will do that, but first I am changing the ibus-table menus from
toggles to sub-menus.
