ibus-typing-booster-lookup-table-displayed-with-0-candidates.png
Tested on Fedora-18-Beta-TC6-x86_64-netinst.iso.
With the en_US ibus-typing-booster, type a word which is *not*
in the dictionary, for example “supercali”.
A lookup table for candidates pops up which is empty.
See screenshot.
Expected behaviour:
No lookup table should pop up if there are no candidates.

When the option to use the TAB key to enable suggestions is set, the
lookup table do not show up immediately after pressing TAB but only
after typing the next character. And it immediately disappears again
after typing one more key. It also disappears again when the next key
typed is arrow-up or arrow-down, making it impossible to select a
candidate using arrow-up or arrow-down.

The setup tool for ibus-typing booster has a feature to install
a possibly missing hunspell-<language> dictionary package.
But the list of languages and dictionaries to install is hardcoded
and several languages are missing in that list.
Rather than hardcoding this, the dictionary package names should
be read from the .conf files.

[Fedora-i18n-bugs] [Bug 876666] New: Properties of ibus-typing-booster to select input methods are not shown by gnome-shell in f18

The ibus properties used by ibus-typing-booster to select the
input method used are not shown when clicking on the
input method selector in the panel of gnome-shell in Fedora 18.
Therefore, it is not possible for the user to select the input
method used by an ibus-typing-booster engine in gnome-shell
on Fedora 18.
Even on gnome-shell in Fedora 17 and on non-Gnome desktops
in Fedora 18, where the properties of ibus-typing-booster are
accessible, they are not very useful because the input method
selected there is forgotten when ibus is restarted.
The input method used for a certain ibus-typing-booster engine is
something which is not changed very often by the user, therefore it is
better to have this setting in the setup tool, not in the properties.
Moving these settings to the setup tool also avoids the problem of
displaying the properties in gnome-shell in Fedora 18.
Of course these settings should be saved and remembered after
restarting ibus.

Of course, therefore I took care to mention that I can see it with the naked
eye from 1 metre distance from my monitor.
But the magnifying clearly shows that subpixel hinting has been used and what
colours have been used.
I prefer sharp byte code hinting with gray-scale antialiasing.
I just used "DejaVu Sans Mono" with autohint=false, hintstyle=hintfull and
rgba=rgb in my terminal for a while, I don’t like it, I clearly see
the colour fringes, it quickly annoys me. I really prefer gray-scale
anti-aliasing, at least with the current implementation of subpixel hinting
in freetype 2.4.8. Maybe the new implementation is better, I did not
yet test it.
But these things really seem to depend on user preference, it is
hard to say what is "best" here.
