Summary: ibus-hangul candidate selection arrow keys are wrong
Product: Fedora
Version: rawhide
Platform: All
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: medium
Priority: low
Component: ibus-hangul
AssignedTo: phuang(a)redhat.com
ReportedBy: wtogami(a)redhat.com

ibus-hangul-1.1.0.20090328-1.fc11.x86_64
ibus-1.1.0.20090331-1.fc11.x86_64
Currently candidate selection arrow key behavior is wrong. Up/Down and
Left/Right need to be swapped respectively.
Vertical Current Behavior
=========================
* Up/Down arrows switch to the next page of candidates.
* Left/Right arrows select candidates on the current page.
* PgUp/PgDn switch to the next page of candidates.
Vertical Expected Behavior
==========================
* Up/Down arrows select candidates on the current page.
* Left/Right arrows switch to the next page of candidates.
* PgUp/PgDn switch to the next page of candidates.
Similarly candidate selection when ibus-hangul is in horizontal mode is
backwards.

Windows XP and Windows Vista with US keyboard layout.
* right-Alt acts as Hangul/English button. It does not dismiss the language
bar. It only switches between 한 and En.
* right-CTRL acts as Hanja button.
We need this by default because it is very common for Koreans with US keyboards
to expect this interface.

Mamoru Tasaka <mtasaka(a)ioa.s.u-tokyo.ac.jp> changed:
What |Removed |Added
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Status|ASSIGNED |CLOSED
Resolution| |RAWHIDE
--- Comment #30 from Mamoru Tasaka <mtasaka(a)ioa.s.u-tokyo.ac.jp> 2009-04-11 13:46:53 EDT ---
In the previous (-7) spec file:
---------------------------------------------------------
for i in `find -type f ! -name "*.gif"`; do
sh -c "iconv -f utf-8 -t utf-8 $i > /dev/null 2>&1 || (iconv -f euc-jp -t
utf-8 $i > $i.new && mv $i.new
$i || exit 1)
if [ $? != 0 ]; then
iconv -f iso8859-1 -t utf-8 $i > $.new && mv $i.new $i || exit 1
fi"
done
---------------------------------------------------------
Here $? is always 0 like below:
---------------------------------------------------------
$ sh -c "LANG=C ; foo bar ; echo $?"
sh: foo: command not found
0
$ sh -c 'LANG=C ; foo bar ; echo $?'
sh: foo: command not found
127
---------------------------------------------------------
With double quotation shell first evaluates the value of $?
and expands it before actually executing sub-shell. However
as we also want to use $i, we cannot easily change " to '.
So I changed
- not to use subshell
- from ( to {
---------------------------------------------------------
$ sh -c 'status=0 ; { status=1 ; } ; echo $status'
1
$ sh -c 'status=0 ; ( status=1 ) ; echo $status'
0
---------------------------------------------------------
- and not to "exit 1" but to use "status=1"
And I addressed all I mentioned in my comment 23 (except for
64 bits handling)
