ibus-hangul Bug 494445 requires a hotkey of "press the right Alt button and
release it without hitting other buttons simultaneously" to switch between
Hangul and English input modes. Implementing a mode in ibus-hangul would take
too much time before Fedora 11, so we agreed to add a temporary workaround
making right-Alt a global trigger hotkey in ibus instead.
Unfortunately, it seems it doesn't work properly.
* Alt_R by itself works, which triggers upon any (release?) event.
Unfortunately, it also triggers when you don't want it, like Alt_R+F in gedit.
* Release+Alt_R is supposed to work to isolate it as press-and-release hotkey,
except it doesn't. According to phuang other keys work in this manner with
ibus, but not Alt.
In any case, both the proper fix for ibus-hangul and the ibus global trigger
workaround require Alt + Release isolation to be fixed.
This is a F11Blocker, unless we decide that Bug 494445 cannot be fixed before
F-11.

ibus-hangul-1.1.0.20090328-1.fc11
Currently ibus-hangul does nothing if you press the Han/En button (Korean
layout) or right-Alt. Users expect this to flip between Hangul and English
input mode without dismissing the language bar.
This is arguably the most used Korean button, so proposing for F11Blocker.

I see this bug was reopened, but I see no additional comments indicating why.
Closing out again for now. If it's not actually fixed, please say that instead
of just reopening it. Thanks.

> This is "fixed" in our main desktops (KDE/Gnome)
I guess regarding DeviceKit, yes it's solved and fixed
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=489222
but I did not see any hal system-wide policy here
so it's not yet fixed
I call for having a small fdi policy file setting it for whatever desktop
relying on HAL containing something like:
<device>
<match key="block.is_volume" bool="true">
<match key="volume.fstype" string="vfat">
<merge key="volume.policy.mount_option.utf8=true"
type="bool">true</merge>
</match>
</match>
</device>
having it fixed in both DeviceKit and hal then I can say we have it almost
solved and proudly flag this bug as closed
please reconsider keeping it open until we having fdi file like the above one
in hal
> I hear you. But the kernel guys disagreed...
because they are stupid and close minded
Linux is supposed to be international

but i think we can implement only one in glibc.
> As the Bengali (bn) Collation sequence will be common for both Bangladesh
> (bn_BD) and India (bn_IN), we will work together.
Thats nice
Now i think we can do more accurate work for Bengali collation.
It will be if you see once /usr/share/i18n/locales/iso14651_t1_common, this is
common file for collation data and included in almost all locale file in
LC_COLLATE section,
We should also add Bengali collation data in this file only.
Advantage of keeping collation data in this file is that, your collation data
will be available to OS even if one select other locale.
I saw your file, nice work, but it will be nice if you follow
iso14651_t1_common file structure.
check my earlier comments, i have done some work for Bengali and it is in final
stage, it will be nice if you check it once and suggest any modification if
require.
It will be nice if Bengali India and Bangladesh collation orders are 100% same,
but even if there are any difference it will not create any problem as both
have different locale file and we can update differences in respective locale
file. so it will not affect on and other.
(for example, Devanagari script is share by Marathi, Hindi, Sanskrit language's
though there basic sorting is in common file and some miscellaneous sorting
stuff in respective locale file check mr_IN reorder)
