--- Comment #1 from Jens Petersen petersen@redhat.com --- Note that we have already switched the default Punjabi font in Fedora to google-noto-sans-gurmukhi-vf-fonts some time ago.
Probably better to report this to https://github.com/lohit-fonts/lohit-gurmukhi-fonts though right now we don't have an active maintainer unfortunately.

--- Comment #2 from Parminder Lehal plehal@lehal.net --- google-noto-sans-gurmukhi fonts suffer from almost same flaws. Please, see attached pictures..or you can see the text in the gurmukhi text in the comment using noto fonts and attched font file( attached to explain the issue ). also, see attached images to see the difference.

--- Comment #6 from Ben Cotton bcotton@redhat.com --- This message is a reminder that Fedora Linux 35 is nearing its end of life. Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora Linux 35 on 2022-12-13. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a 'version' of '35'.
Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, change the 'version' to a later Fedora Linux version.
Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not able to fix it before Fedora Linux 35 is end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Fedora Linux, you are encouraged to change the 'version' to a later version prior to this bug being closed.

--- Comment #7 from Parminder Lehal plehal@lehal.net --- The problem is with the font package which is part of all the Redhat offerings including Redhat enterprise so this automated closing ritual without even reading the bug won't help anyone. It only dissuades users from reporting the bugs. I reported the bug referring to the OS version where "I" found it. The same font is used in other distributions so it is in all the distros.

--- Comment #8 from Jens Petersen petersen@redhat.com --- We have basically switched Fedora (and RHEL 9) to use google-noto-sans-gurmukhi-vf-fonts by default. So I highly recommend reporting this also to https://github.com/notofonts/gurmukhi/issues .
Indeeed, which is why I have opened https://github.com/lohit-fonts/lohit-gurmukhi-fonts/issues/1 upstream to track this.
