We talked about the app selection four weeks ago and I think we
agreed
to
1. drop gftp
2. drop totem in favor of parole, although we loose automatic
codec install
3. replace mousepad with leafpad. This will require a change in
the default config of xfce4-panel. Meanwhile there is a preview of
the new mousepad which is a complete rewrite. I'd like to roll
testing packages of it before we decide to switch to leafpad,
so I don't think we should make this change now.
I like the new mousepad, so if we think it can get translations before
release time perhaps we could go for that instead of leafpad?
There has been some progress with LXDM recently: It now supports
plymouth, custom themes [1], Xauth, but not yet gnome-keyring. And
there are still probems with selinux [2].
I would say to stick with gdm for this cycle for now, and re-evaluate
next time.
One more change I'd like to propose: Replace tigervnc with
remmina [3]
Remmina supports VNC (outgoing and incoming!), XDMCP RDP, and
SSH/SFTP, has a nice GTK interface and last but not least an Xfce
panel applet. :) Remmina is currently under review [4] and I have
already packaged remmina-xfce.
Yep. I am fine with that. Works great here. ;)
