4.10 final in F17 side repo + new panel plugins
by Raphael Groner
Hi Kevin and all those other testers/maintainers of Xfce,
thanks a lot for your hard work to bring Xfce 4.12 into Fedora.
Could you add xfce4-kbdleds-plugin and xfce4-embed-plugin to the side
repo, too? That would be great and a nice gimmick to attract even
more users. I guess the outstanding review requests should not harm
that semi-official repo.
Regards,
Raphael

Xfce 4.10 - Default browser ignored on help
by Jim Dean
Sorry if this is already answered. I did search but couldn't find anything.
I have 4.10 on Fedora 16. When I click on a help button it opens in Firefox
even though in Default applications the default browser is set to Chrome.
I have checked in the Mime Type Editor, great addition to Xfce by the way
despite the name, and there is no mention of Firefox anywhere in there.
Not sure where else to look.

No Restart/Shutdown (ConsoleKit=yes; display manager=no).
by Sergio Cipolla
Hi, I've installed a minimal F17 system (building it up gradually)
with Xfce 4.10. I have both ConsoleKit and ConsoleKit-x11 installed
but 'Restart' and 'Shutdown' are grayed out.
I'm starting xfce with startx. It has
#!/bin/sh
exec ck-launch-session startxfce4
(but I think 'ck-launch-session' isn't even needed as
/etc/xdg/xfce4/xinit checks for that)
I have only xfconf, xfce4-session, xfwm4 and xfce4-panel (plus
dependencies libxfce4ui and libxfce4util and two extras: xfce4-notifyd
and the clipman plugin). I haven't installed xfdesktop nor
xfce4-settings.
If anyone has any idea what may be the issue, please tell. I may ask
at the Xfce forum too, though.
Tks.

How do I set the correct time in Rawhide Xfce
This is a KVM guest, and no bios to adjust.

Curious:
Why is clock greyed out,
when 2nd button clicked on displayed time.

Broken Desktop
by David
With the update in Rawhide to 4.10 from 4.8 my desktop was broken. Parts
of the 'starters' in Settings Manager. Most notably the "Desktop"
starter. So I can not set the options there and the options that were
set apparently have 'disappeared' too. It may be related but a 'mouse
click' on the desktop no longer puts up a drop-down menu and my 'desktop
icons' are no longer there.
What package is missing or damaged?

Restart on xfce4-session-logout dialog
by Matt Hausmann
Hi all,
I'm testing F17 and I've noticed that the restart and shutdown options
are unavailable on the xfce4-session-logout dialog. Is there any way I
can get this back to what it is like in F16?
I've uploaded a screenshot for reference: http://i.imgur.com/JVUM0.png
Thanks,

4.10 final in F17 side repo
by Kevin Fenzi
Just a note that I have updated my f17 side repo to 4.10 final.
http://repos.fedorapeople.org/repos/kevin/xfce-4.10/
I am building f16 now, and should update in the next few days.
After that if all goes well, I will give el6 a try. ;)
As always, if you run into issues, please note them here and I will try
and fix them up. xfburn still isn't working, so you will need to remove
that if you have it installed.
