I was looking at the /etc/pam.d/gdm file.
Which has:
auth required pam_succeed_if.so user != root quiet
It just seems like pam only has the option to say allowed or denied.
Is that true?
Does it have the option to return something like:
user whoever not allowed?
In this case:
user root not allowed
Seems like it would be friendlier to say:
"User root not allowed"
Instead of:
"Unable to authenticate user"
Just not sure if pam is able to do things like that or not.
