Hello all, I am trying to do an nfs install of f8-t2 i386. I mounted the nfs server (finally) on an f7 machine, slipped the rescue cd into the target machine and booted. Top option let me do an nfs install. It finds the directory, good. But..then it says 'local media detected', the cd spins a lot, and a box pops up: "The installer has tried to mount image #1 but cannot find it on the server. please copy this image to the remote server's share path and click retry. Click exit to abort the installation"
what I have in the 'remote server's share path' is:
Fedora-7.91-i386-DVD.iso Fedora-7.91-i386-rescuecd.iso SHA1SUM
What should I do? Thanks, Bill
Not that is means anything much but I have done one install of FC8test2 from a NFS directory on a FC7 machine and it worked fine.
Arch

Not sure, but unless it's been changed, your only suppose to have the iso's that you are installing with, nothing else. So in this case, just the dvd.iso and that's it (speaking in regards to the nfs server dir path).

Not sure, and maybe the rescue cd and boot.iso is the same thing, but have you tried with the boot.iso from the images dir? That is what I use for network based isntalls and it never fails.

OK, I mounted the iso and that works. That must be change for the DVD isos being in one image. Thanks, Bill ps it doesn't actually install - crashes just after password type in, something to do with cannot retrieve repository metadata. Ah well.
