Hi,
i used the word admin wrongly, in my private system the only admin is root and I used the
root pw. But anyway, when today Gnome SW asked for the root pw, it was accepted, and Gnome
SW installed apps. Why? I don't know, possibly an dnf update. I also have had problems
in installing apps in F23 (Gnome SW had the F22 apps chosen), but today I also could
install the F23 apps, Gnome SW choose the F23 versions (dnf update).
Kind Regards

Hi,
I know it's out of topic,
but I have had today urgent Gnome problems with F23
Final TC9 Gnome SW and now
really unexpected situation with Gnome SW F22.
Installed F22, last build, to a
32GB usb flash medium. dnf su
admin pw, ok. dnf update ok. Tried to install apps
via the Gnome SW. Admin password requested, correct admin pw always rejected.
Any idea? Coincident behaviour with the previous problems of F23 TC9 Gnome SW?
Gnome SW F23 TC9 rejected installation of Gimp, Xsane etc.
Kind Regards
You
need to be clear about whether it's asking for the root password or
the admin
password. If you are using "su", then it will ask for the
root password. If
you are using Gnome SW application and your user is
an administrator, then it
will be asking for an admin password which is
your user password. If your user
is not an administrator, but there is
another administrator account, it will
ask for that password. It should
indicate which user it's asking for.
