I have a eeePC 901 as well running F-10
I installed F10 (todays rawhide via netinstall) on my Asus PC901 and
run
into several problems:
- small screen. Some screens like GDM are just to big to fit on the display.
GDM has so many stuff (keyboard layout, language, ...) that simply does not
fit on the screen.
It does fit for me but then I have only one user so I suspect it grows
if you have more than one.
- Some Gnome setting dialogs are too big.
Yes, I see that with evolution, ekiga and other diaglogs
- Some windows are, when created, not entirely visible. They barely
fit on
the display, when the user does move them.
Yes, it seems things like gnome-terminal don't see to remember the
last size so it always has its titlebar above the top panel bar.
- Reboot does not work. After shutting down the system I have to
remove the
battery and disconnect the power adapter, otherwise I can't switch on the
system again.
I've never had an issue with my 901 on reboots. Have you looked at
updating the BIOS as a newer one of these might fix that sort of
issue.
- WLAN does not work (missing driver).
Known issue. The driver needs to be re-written to be included in the
kernel upstream. There is a driver in
rpmfusion.org repos. Its the
rt2860 driver.
Has anyone an Asus 901 and is seeing the same problems ? What about
other
EEE types ? Are they workiing
The 901 and most of the rest of them work quite well. There's a few
known issues like 901/1001 wireless and issues with the SD card with
the 701 You might want to look at the Fedora Mini SIG and the
associated tracker bug. Any bugs you file be sure to add them as a dep
to the tracker bug.
