I have a Dell with NVIDIA, two Lenovo ThinkPads with Intel, and one
Lenovo ThinkPad with ATI/Intel switchable, all behave identically. This
would seem to indicate it is something affecting all platforms.
I thought GDM came up on Xwayland not Xorg.
