I don't understand why, but wpa_supplicant logs never go to
wpa_supplicant.log but instead go to wpa_supplicant.log-YEARMONTHDAY.
$ ls -l /var/log/wpa_supplicant.log*
-rw-r--r--. 1 root root 0 Ago 29 11:40 /var/log/wpa_supplicant.log
-rw-r--r--. 1 root root 1341034 Ago 24 15:43
/var/log/wpa_supplicant.log-20120824
-rw-r--r--. 1 root root 3108455 Ago 27 16:57
/var/log/wpa_supplicant.log-20120825
-rw-r--r--. 1 root root 4038619 Ago 28 20:37
/var/log/wpa_supplicant.log-20120828
-rw-r--r--. 1 root root 1042585 Ago 29 11:43
/var/log/wpa_supplicant.log-20120829
Everywhere where -f is specified the file is the correct one:
/usr/share/dbus-1/system-services/fi.epitest.hostap.WPASupplicant.service:Exec=/usr/sbin/wpa_supplicant
-B -u -f /var/log/wpa_supplicant.log -c
/etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf -P /var/run/wpa_supplicant.pid
/usr/share/dbus-1/system-services/fi.w1.wpa_supplicant1.service:Exec=/usr/sbin/wpa_supplicant
-B -u -f /var/log/wpa_supplicant.log -c
/etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf -P /var/run/wpa_supplicant.pid
/usr/lib/systemd/system/wpa_supplicant.service:ExecStart=/usr/sbin/wpa_supplicant
-u -f /var/log/wpa_supplicant.log -c
/etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf $INTERFACES $DRIVERS
$OTHER_ARGS
Shall I open a bug report? Or is this expected?
