What is libpurple? by doing a
# yum update -y --exclude=libpurple
still the message appears. Is libpurple very important here that
excluding it from updating, still it complains about it.
The problem would be that libpurple isn't being updated, but libsilc is
being updated. The installed libpurple needs what is provided by the
libsilc that would be replaced with a new libsilc.
