Since I don't get firstboot, this problem would appear to be release blocking if
reproducible.
Installer allows me to create /usr and /var mount points. If they're device type btrfs
(maybe LVM, I haven't tried it), anaconda makes them subvols, and the associated
/etc/fstab is correctly formed to mount those subvols. On reboot following installation I
get this:

journalctl at the dracut prompt reveals this line in red:
btrfs: 'root' is not a valid subvolume
mount: wrong fs type, bad option
missing code page or helper rpog
……
The right side text is cutoff. I'm a bit confused what's going on here. Booting
DVD in rescue mode, there are subvols, root, boot, home, usr, var. Root is a valid
subvolume. And rescue mode mounts root and boot but not usr or var.
Hmmm…
