Um. xorg-x11-server 1.17.1-7 is definitely the version in TC7: see

. Also, the change Hans refers to is not a 'fix', but a behaviour
change that itself is likely to *cause* problems, if anything - X
running as a regular user rather than root. Are you sure it was
actually an xorg-x11-server update that resolved your problem?
I thought that
possibility considering that I can boot with nomodeset or
in Wayland session after installation. When using the live media, from
the journal report:
Apr 05 11:58:20 localhost /usr/libexec/gdm-x-session[1650]: (EE)
systemd-logind: failed to take device /dev/dri/card1: Did not receive a
reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a
reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply
timeout expired, or the network connection was broken.
Apr 05 11:58:21 localhost /usr/libexec/gdm-x-session[1650]: (EE)
/dev/dri/card1: failed to set DRM interface version 1.4: Permission denied

Apr 05 11:58:36 localhost /usr/libexec/gdm-x-session[1650]: (EE) Backtrace:

/usr/libexec/Xorg (OsLookupColor+0x139) [0x599dd9]
That part explains why X-session couldn't start. I thought
xorg-x11-server was the culprit due to permission problem. I don't know
if it is xorg-x11-drv-ati problem as well.
After installing with nomodeset parameter and remove it, the X session
is working until application like LibreOffice constantly crashes it on
Gnome Shell by simply start it.
