It seems the update of biosdevname to biosdevname-0.4.0-1.fc17.x86_64
was the culprit. After downgrading to biosdevname-0.3.11-6, the LAN
device was renamed to em1.
In cases like this, *please* note the problem on the Bodhi page for the
update. It's what Bodhi is for. I have added a 'proxy' note for you to
try and make sure the update doesn't go through without this being
considered:
