2/ I tried plugging in my digital camera (Cannon S45). Everything goes fine, Digikam could 'discover' my camera, but then when Digikam tries to 'connect' to the camera, and it says it 'failed to connect to the camera'. /var/log/messages shows during the 'plugin till unplug' time shows the following:

3/ Hibernate shuts the system down, but it would not start up again when I pushed the power button, It looked like it did something, but the screen didn't come back. (I'm not sure if the backlight came on.) (Sorry, I don't have any more diagnostics at this time.)

You'll most likely need the vbe_post qwirk, which I did. I have submitted a patch for my M1330 to hal, waiting for list admin to approve the post. Follow the instructions to create a hal-info definition for your laptop with the working qwirk too.
