if anyone could shed some light on this, it would be appreciated.
I have rebuilt kernels 326, 327, and 332 and did not have any problems with the ntfs modules. I did however, rebuild the whole kernel at once, not just the ntfs subdir. I have not done 349 yet.

Just compile the kernel AND all the modules at this point. It really doesn't take that long. It should be possible to build just parts of the kernel fine.. but evidently it doesn't work for you. make all
