Failed attempt to fpaste UEFI failure data
by Chuck Forsberg WA7KGX
While in RC1.1 anaconda booted with UEFI I was able
to ftp the files in /tmp to my server. I then rebooted
my office machine to RC1.1 that had been installed
without UEFI. I tried fpaste again on these files and
fpaste failed again:

We do not change file names when composed. what they are in the RC is
what they will be when shipped.

F18 up to F20 -- how?
by Beartooth
I have several machines running F18, which I would like to change
to F20 by some sort of upgrade, rather than a fresh install. Can anyone
yet guess whether upgrading from a DVD, or using fedup, or yum, or some
other way is most likely to succeed with the least trouble?
Among other possibilities, is an upgrade via DVD from F18 to F20
Beta, followed by yum updates at regular short intervals, any more or
less promising that fedup? (I've had very mixed experience with that.)
Btw, this seems to me much more of a question for the regular
Fedora list; but I tried it there, and a couple of people have referred
me here.

Network Manager questions on F20RC1
by Robert M. Albrecht
Hi,
my system has a built in ethernet interface wich is working perfectly
fine on IPV4 and IPV6.
I added a second interface via usb for wiresharking some stuff (this way
I don't get my own traffic in the packet dumps).
I don't want or need an IP-stack on this second interface.
In network manager there is on top of the IPV4 and IPV6 config pages an
on/off button.
For IPV4 this buttons seems to have no effect at all. It's off-position
is not even saved when applying or closing the dialog.
For IPV6 something happens. All addresses except local link are deleted,
no DNS and routing.
But if link local still remains where is the difference between
disabling IPV6 or enabling and choosing link local configuration only ?
Did I missunderstand the gui and the on/off buttons have some other
effect ? Or is it simply broken ?

certmonger-0.69-1.fc20 (FEDORA-2013-23360)
Certificate status monitor and PKI enrollment client
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update Information:
This update fixes crashes in the daemon when there are errors reading some of its data files or errors saving newly-obtained certificates to disk.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ChangeLog:
* Mon Dec 9 2013 Nalin Dahyabhai <nalin(a)redhat.com> 0.69-1
- tweak how we decide whether we're on the master or a minion when we're
told to use certmaster as a CA
- clean up one of the tests so that it doesn't have to work around internal
logging producing duplicate messages
- when logging errors while setting up to contact xmlrpc servers, explicitly
note that the error is client-side
- don't abort() due to incorrect locking when an attempt to save an issued
certificate to the designated location fails (part of #1032760/#1033333,
ticket #22)
- when reading an issued certificate from an enrollment helper, ignore
noise before or after the certificate itself (more of #1032760/1033333,
ticket #22)
- run subprocesses in a cleaned-up environment (more of #1032760/1033333,
ticket #22)
- clear the ca-error that we saved when we had an error talking to the CA if we
subsequently succeed in talking to the CA
- various other static-analysis fixes

yum rawhide failing....
by kevin martin
Every mirror for yum rawhide is failing at this time for me with 404 not found messages. I see this error as well:
One of the configured repositories failed (Fedora - Rawhide - Developmental packages for the next Fedora release),
and yum doesn't have enough cached data to continue.
Is there an issue that should resolve later?
Thanks
Kevin
