python-dns-1.7.1-1.fc12
-----------------------
* Fri Jun 19 2009 Jeffrey C. Ollie <jeff(a)ocjtech.us> - 1.7.0-1
- New since 1.6.0:
-
- Rdatas now have a to_digestable() method, which returns the
- DNSSEC canonical form of the rdata, suitable for use in
- signature computations.
-
- The NSEC3, NSEC3PARAM, DLV, and HIP RR types are now supported.
-
- An entropy module has been added and is used to randomize query ids.
-
- EDNS0 options are now supported.
-
- UDP IXFR is now supported.
-
- The wire format parser now has a 'one_rr_per_rrset' mode, which
- suppresses the usual coalescing of all RRs of a given type into a
- single RRset.
-
- Various helpful DNSSEC-related constants are now defined.
-
- The resolver's query() method now has an optional 'source' parameter,
- allowing the source IP address to be specified.
-
- Bugs fixed since 1.6.0:
-
- On Windows, the resolver set the domain incorrectly.
-
- DS RR parsing only allowed one Base64 chunk.
-
- TSIG validation didn't always use absolute names.
-
- NSEC.to_text() only printed the last window.
-
- We did not canonicalize IPv6 addresses before comparing them; we
- would thus treat equivalent but different textual forms, e.g.
- "1:00::1" and "1::1" as being non-equivalent.
-
- If the peer set a TSIG error, we didn't raise an exception.
-
- Some EDNS bugs in the message code have been fixed (see the ChangeLog
- for details).
* Fri Jun 19 2009 Jeffrey C. Ollie <jeff(a)ocjtech.us> - 1.7.1-1
- New since 1.7.0:
-
- Nothing
-
- Bugs fixed since 1.7.0:
-
- The 1.7.0 kitting process inadventently omitted the code for the
- DLV RR.
-
- Negative DDNS prerequisites are now handled correctly.

crypto_LUKS mounts fail (rawhide)
by Tom London
I tried to "backup" my system to a crypt_LUKS partition on a USB drive.
This has been the way I've been backing up for quite some time.
This now fails with Rawhide:
[root@tlondon packages]# mount /dev/sdc1 /mnt
mount: unknown filesystem type 'crypto_LUKS'
[root@tlondon packages]#
I've tried booting older kernels, reverting device-mapper, lvm2 and
util-linux-ng packages to no avail.
[root@tlondon packages]# fdisk /dev/sdc
The number of cylinders for this disk is set to 38913.
There is nothing wrong with that, but this is larger than 1024,
and could in certain setups cause problems with:
1) software that runs at boot time (e.g., old versions of LILO)
2) booting and partitioning software from other OSs
(e.g., DOS FDISK, OS/2 FDISK)
Command (m for help): print
Disk /dev/sdc: 320.1 GB, 320072933376 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 38913 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes
Disk identifier: 0x0005772c
Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/sdc1 1 38913 312568641 83 Linux
Command (m for help): quit
[root@tlondon packages]#
Anyone successfully mounting LUKS encrypted partitions with rawhide?
This a known issue?
I've BZ'ed this here: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=506960
Help appreciated.

Help needed in diagnosing cause of scrollbars rendering bug
by Martin Sourada
Hello to all testers,
I'd like to ask you for help with diagnosing a bug in nodoka scrollbars
rendering [1] as I am unable to reproduce it myself and the reporter
does not have time to do extensive testing.
To summarize the problem: for some people, sliders in long vertical
scrollbars are often (if not always) rendered partly wrong.
To summarize what I'd like you to test: Try to reproduce the bug. I am
especially interested whether it occurs with/without KMS, compositing
and various video drivers (the reporter has an ATI card, I have an Intel
card...). If you can reproduce it with default fedora installation, it
would be great if you could test if it happens also with other
configurations (i.e. different video driver and KMS/compositing
settings) on the same machine. Are you able to reproduce it only on
vertical scrollbars, or also on horizontal ones?
The reporter also says that it does not happen with other gtk engines
than nodoka. I'm not sure which he tried though, but most likely those
available via gtk2-engines package. Therefore I'm especially interested
in those that are *not* installed by default (e.g. murrine), or even not
available in repository (e.g. aurora). This could help me diagnose which
sequence of cairo commands triggers this issue (different engines draw
the sliders in different ways, not only with different look).
I think this bug is not in nodoka, because
a) I haven't touched the scrollbar's sliders drawing code since about
Fedora 9 and it started occurring only lately
b) the reporter uses different video driver than I do
c) we've already had a bug in ati driver being triggered by nodoka code
in the past
d) I've reviewed the drawing code, and didn't find anything that could
cause this
But I'd like to have more info to know why is this happening in nodoka
and not in clearlooks and to have better idea if I need to reassign the
bug to other component (and which), or if it is a bug in nodoka code
after all...
Thanks in advance for any help with this,
Martin

Rawhide Acceptance Test Plan
by Will Woods
Hi folks,
Here's the first draft of a plan describing Rawhide Acceptance Testing.
This is the test plan we'll use to determine if rawhide is 'broken' or
not. Eventually this will evolve into a set of automated tests and
public reports about rawhide.. but first I want to be sure we're testing
the right things.
Remember, right now this isn't about *how* we're going to test, just
*what* we're going to test. We'll get to *how* in a little bit.
Please give it a look - especially the Pass/Fail criteria and Test Cases
- to make sure we've covered the critical parts for making sure Rawhide
isn't broken.
Thanks!

dbus-cxx-0.4.0-1.fc11 (FEDORA-2009-6763)
C++ bindings for the DBus library
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update Information:
This release introduces the dbus-cxx-glibmm library to provide a means of
integrating dbus-cxx with glibmm. The key class is DBus::Glib::Dispatcher which
performs exactly like DBus::Dispatcher except all actual dispatching occurs in
the Glibmm main loop. Since Gtkmm uses Glibmm for it's main loop this also
provides a mechanism for integrating dbus-cxx into Gtkmm. To enable glibmm
support pass --enable-glibmm to configure. There are also a few new changes to
DBus::Dispatcher. The constructor now accepts a boolean parameter is_running
(defaults to true) that will automatically start the dispatcher when
constructed. Also, the dispatcher will call stop() on destruction to effect an
orderly shutdown. DBus::Dispatcher has had a few bugs fixed and a few missing
pieces filled in. The watch thread finally has support for the case where there
are no watches. Instead, the watch thread will use sleep for the same timeout
period as select() was using and upon reawakening will check for new watches. A
missing mutex was also added to DBus::Dispatcher::create_connection(), and a
hack was removed from the dispatch thread that called flush() on each connection
(the auto-start on the Dispatchers revealed the source of the problem and the
need for the hack). Finally, the standard pointer typedef and static create()
methods were added to the dispatcher classes to standardize across all dbus-cxx
classes. This release introduces a new macro DBUS_CXX_ITERATOR_SUPPORT to
support types that are not natively supported by dbus-cxx but can be
static_cast<> to a supported type. This is typically most useful for supporting
enumeration types.dbus-cxx-xml2cpp has been modified to use
DBUS_CXX_ITERATOR_SUPPORT to support castable types when generating proxy and
adapter interfaces for both methods and signals. The example computer-is-a has
been modified to demonstrate the use of dbus-cxx-xml2cpp and enums with both
methods and signals.

merge of difference between two repos * avoid potential segfault with
subtree mergeinfo * avoid unnecessary server query for implicit mergeinfo

on 'svn add' items with restricted depth * fixed: commit log message
template missing paths * fixed: segfault on merge with servers < 1.6 *

dbus-cxx-0.4.0-1.fc10 (FEDORA-2009-6707)
The example computer-is-a has
been modified to demonstrate the use of dbus-cxx-xml2cpp and enums with both
methods and signals.

dbus-cxx-0.4.0-1.fc9 (FEDORA-2009-6727)

Rawhide installation issues.
by Chuck Forsberg WA7KGX
The unhandled exception on a Gigabyte GA-ep45-ud3p
continues with today's rawhide. I suspect it is related
to this motherboard and ICH10 controller as 64 rawhide
installs on two older systems. This particular motherboard
came out last year.
The installation is not reading the partition types on
existing partitions, including Linux and swap partitions.
Swap partitions muse be manually re-entered.
