F10A help with InstallSourceNfsIso?
by Jerry Williams
This doesn't seem to work and it seems to try and find
/whatever/images/stage2.img.
In my /var/log/messages I see that it tries to find the images directory
that isn't there, but it doesn't tell me what files if any it is trying to
grab.
I haven't renamed the .iso file, but how do I know what it is looking for?
I don't have much more information about it not working, is it enough to
file a bug report?
Thanks for any help,
Jerry Williams

connected once, but not again with kernel-2.6.27-0.237.rc1.git5.fc10.i686
by Antonio Olivares
Dear fellow testers,
Yesterday, I was able to connect once with the 237 kernel, I tried again, but was unable to. Today, I tried to update to todays rawhide report 20080808, but I could not connect, had to revert to
kernel-2.6.27-0.226.rc1.git5.fc10.i686 to apply the updates. I will test 238 that came in and report back later if something does not work. I ran a dmesg while not connecting:

F10A interaction with VirtualBox 1.6.4
by Jerry Williams
I am running VirtualBox 1.6.4 on Windows Vista 64 and when I run the test on
the DVD it works just fine, but once it completes the test it must eject it
or something. Once the test is completed it can't find the DVD. I have to
reboot to see it and then it installs just fine. So not sure what is going
on there.
Also do we really need Dial up to be installed by default? I haven't used
dial up for a few years. Could we maybe make it smarter and check for a
modem, before loading that? Or even a serial port.
Thanks,
Jerry Williams

"Failed to play event sound: File or data not found" messages in .xsession-errors
by Tom London
Running rawhide, notice many messages like below in ~/.xsession-errors:
** (rhythmbox:4298): WARNING **: Failed to play event sound: File or
data not found
** (rhythmbox:4298): WARNING **: Failed to play event sound: File or
data not found
** (gnome-terminal:4079): WARNING **: Failed to play event sound: File
or data not found
** (gnome-terminal:4079): WARNING **: Failed to play event sound: File
or data not found
About 40 or 50 in current session, seem to get them from every app I
run (gnome-panel, gpk-update-icon, nm-applet, etc.).
Not sure if anything is amiss, or how to "locate" missing file.
Any thoughts?

Encrypted root with recent rawhide kernels
by Sven Lankes
Hi,
my rawhide system uses an encrypted root-fs and I haven't been able to
boot from a kernel newer than kernel-2.6.27-0.186 at all.
When I boot with plymouth enabled (with rhgb in the grub cmdline), the
machine just hangs displaying the plymouth wait screen. Pressing escape
gets me a blank screen.
Booting without plymouth gets me
"Setting up disk encryption: /dev/sda2"
plymouth: ply-list.c:240: ply_list_unlink_node: Assertion 'ply_list_find_node (list, node->data) == ((void *)0)'
Anyone else seeing this or am I just dumb?
I don't want to file a bug without further feedback as I have a hard
time believing that I am the first one to stumble over this issue.

rpm ts_done mixed up?
by Adam Pribyl
During last severl updates for f9 I see in yum.log a lot of strange
messages like this:
Aug 07 13:22:00 gtk-nodoka-engine: ts_done name in te is krusader should
be gtk-nodoka-engine
Aug 07 13:22:01 coreutils: ts_done name in te is gtk-nodoka-engine should
be coreutils
I've read some old posts saying this is harmless message. But why this
happens with so many packages again?

Upgrading to 10alpha
by John Summerfield
I've done a "yum clean all" and then asked yum what it wants.
What it wants is to download 1.7 Gbytes of stuff. I don't have that much
free space[1], but mounting a USB drive is possible.
What mount point should I use, and what do I need to copy to the drive
before mounting it there?
[1] To solve that properly requires acquiring a drive larger then 320
Gbytes and cloning the existing drive - adding a drive isn't possible.
F10 has to suit me better than F9 does, or I'm more likely to give the
space to Windows.
