F-Spot Update
by Benjamín Valero Espinosa
Would it be possible to see F-Spot updated in FC10? The version 0.5 was
released two months ago and seems very stable now after three minor
releases. The current version is 0.5.0.3.

Battery Management Gone...
by Christopher A Williams
With the latest set of updates on my ThinkPad, I just noticed that power
management no longer sees anything with respect to battery status.
Moreover, the Power Management dialog only has a tab for AC Power - the
Battery tab is also gone.
Should I go ahead and Bugzilla, or did I just miss a post in all of the
excitement? :)
Cheers,
Chris

Root Authentication
by potat0
Is there no way to keep root level authentication anymore, like in Fedora 9? I'm simply tring to copy a file into me /usr/lib64 folder, and i can't do it outside of the comment prompt. of course
su - cp file1 file2 works, but I can't get it to work in the GNOME interface. I've even tried
su - sudo su -
and while that works for the system-configs, it doesn't work for folder manangement. can anyone help me out?

Debug output using xorg-x11-drv-ati-6.9.0-51.fc10.i386
by José Abílio Matos
Hi,
I am using xorg-x11-drv-ati-6.9.0-51.fc10.i386 since the previously the xorg
was slow. The driver has been improving noticeable during the F-10 testing and
now it works mostly without crashing when running with modesetting active. :-)
The new driver xorg-x11-drv-ati-6.9.0-51.fc10.i386 is a faster than the
previous versions and is evident when reading email with kmail or switching
between the different desktops. :-)
I have noticed several debug messages and I am sending them to the list. If
necessary I can send further details.
The xorg server freeze in the previous run, this is what I get at the end of
Xorg.0.log.old:

Flash plugin - where?
by Timothy Murphy
When I install Flash plugin (or other plugins)
by going to <https://addons.mozilla.org/>
and following the instructions,
the plugin is installed in /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/ .
These plugins are not listed when I enter "about:plugins" in Firefox,
and they do not appear to be active.
However, if I link these plugin files to .mozilla/plugins/
then they are listed and are active.
Is this normally required?
Or have I omitted some step in installing plugins?

Can NM complete before login?
by Timothy Murphy
I recall reading recently that an update of NM
was going to allow WiFi connection to be established
before login (which is what I would like).
Am I correct in my recollection?
If so, how exactly does one configure NM to do this?

Firefox not connecting https sites
by Jim
FC10/ KDE
Firefox was having problem of connecting to the below site. But it had
no problem of connecting mozilla.org, but it had problems of connecting
to addons site below.
I check the Firewall settings and found that "Trusted Services" WWW
(HTTP) was not checked, I checked it and Apply. and now I can goto
addons site, but first I have to add the /en-US/ in URL because the box
that I'm having problems on Firefox-3.0.2 would only show a
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/browse/type:7 and it wouldn't put
the /en-US/ in URL. Correct URL is below.
Firefox-3.0 from another box (FC 8) would have no problems injecting
/en-US/ in URL
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/browse/type:7
Any body experience this problem in FC 10 in Firefox-3.0.2 ???

why wait so long after re-inserting install media before continuing?
by Robert P. J. Day
i've noticed this before with earlier fedoras -- after i choose to
verify the install media (in this case, an f10 preview x86_64 dvd),
the verification completes and the DVD is ejected.
i push it back in, and hit "OK" to continue but apparently, the DVD
hasn't had time to spin up so i'm told that the install media can't be
found and the DVD is ejected. again.
i push it in again, wait a few seconds, "OK", same error. i push it
back in and now wait over 10 seconds for the DVD drive to finally
regain its sanity and figure it that, yes, it really does have a
fedora DVD and -- finally -- i can press "OK" and the install
continues.
is there no way to tweak the install to be smart enough to figure
out that, if the drive hasn't spun up yet, it should just hang on for
a few seconds until that's happened?
