kudzu segfault with latest kernel
by Robert P. J. Day
i didn't see anything in bugzilla about this but i only noticed this
with the latest kernel:
$ uname -r
2.6.23-0.204.rc8.fc8
$
during the boot process:
...
Sep 27 08:09:15 localhost kernel: kudzu[2555]: segfault at 00000000 eip 4c47d617 esp bf9e2458 error 4
...
i can't say if it was happening with earlier kernels. should i
bugzilla?
rday
p.s. if i'm running a fully-updated f8t1, would that be classified as
an f8t1 or f8t2 system, for the purposes of bugzilla?

where went the handy progress phrases during boot?
by Robert P. J. Day
during the graphical part of the fedora boot as initial services
were being invoked, even if you chose not to view the details, i could
have sworn that you would still be presented with terse summaries of
each phase such as "Starting networking" or some such thing, and i
don't see those anymore.
were they deliberately removed? am i just imagining things?

F8T2 (x86_64) Initialisation of dual network interfaces
by richard mullens
I have an Asus P5B Deluxe motherboard and I have been trying the live CD.
There are two on-board NICs (both Marvell Technology Group Ltd.):-
eth0 is 88E8056 PCI-E Gigabit ethernet controller
eth1 is 88E8001 Gigabit ethernet controller.
When the system comes up, System->Administration->Network shows
eth1 active, but eth0 inactive
I don't know what is the intent. I have internet connections on each
interface (cable and ADSL) - so I would like both to be usable.
I can activate eth0.
eth0 is 192.168.1.0
eth1 is 192.168.0.0
In a way that I haven't elucidated, activating an interface may alter
the default gateway -
I use ping -R to determine which route is taken.
Do I need two different hostnames/domainnames if I have two internet
connections ?

Updating to F8 (rawhide)
by Doctor Who
What is the process to move my Fedora 7 machine to rawhide? Is it
just a matter of enabling some repos (like testing)? If so, which
ones?
Thanks.

Fedora Project - Start page?
by Jim Cornette
I noticed the mock up start page. Where are the discussions on this
feature supposed to be held? Is it local search, Fedora specific or all
the web?
