i'm still on f11 x86_64 beta, and i invoked xsane which, in its initial dialog window, recognized my multi-function samsung laser printer, but since then, "top" shows that it's just sucking up around 100% of the CPU but not displaying any further windows. is this a known issue? i just fully updated. anything else i should be checking? thanks.

You might try the latest version when it hits the mirrors. From the latest Rawhide Report:
xsane-0.996-7.fc11 ------------------ * Sun May 03 2009 Warren Togami wtogami@redhat.com - 0.996-7 - rebuild to make it work (gcc miscompile?) <<
-B.

Robert,
Todays update of xsane fixed the hanging problem I had. I am using the epkowa driver on my Epson V200 scanner (64bit)
