I'm running on kde, not gnome. Maybe that's the problem?
For the first one, does your DHCP server not return a domain name to your machine?
Don't know. It's a linksys wrt54g wireless router. Not very controllable.
For the second, most likely because gnome-keyring-daemon isn't running, which is because you're running KDE. I know there are instructions for running the gnome keyring under KDE, I think it's as simple as making sure that the daemon is running when you log in, but you might try searching for the step-by-step instructions.
OK. I wonder if there is some way that nm-applet could give me a message about this?
