Description: The main purpose of the EDIM package is to publish an
implementation of an algorithm (found by the package author) for computing
prime parts of the elementary divisors of integer matrices (i.e., the diagonal
entries of the Smith normal form).
The programs are developed and already successfully used for large matrices (up
to rank >12000) with moderate entries and many non-trivial elementary divisors
which are products of some small primes. But they should be useful for other
types of matrices as well.
Among the other functions of the package are:
- an inversion algorithm for large rational matrices (using a p-adic method)
- a program for finding the largest elementary divisor of an integral matrix
(particularly interesting when this is much smaller than the determinant) and
- implementations of some normal form algorithms described by Havas, Majewski,
Matthews, Sterling (using LLL- or modular techniques).

[Bug 1205777] New: Review Request: gap-pkg-autpgrp - Compute the automorphism group of a p-Group in GAP

Description: The AutPGrp package introduces a new function to compute the
automorphism group of a finite p-group. The underlying algorithm is a
refinement of the methods described in O'Brien (1995). In particular, this
implementation is more efficient in both time and space requirements and hence
has a wider range of applications than the ANUPQ method. Our package is
written in GAP code and it makes use of a number of methods from the GAP
library such as the MeatAxe for matrix groups and permutation group functions.
We have compared our method to the others available in GAP. Our package
usually out-performs all but the method designed for finite abelian groups. We
note that our method uses the small groups library in certain cases and hence
our algorithm is more effective if the small groups library is installed.

Description: The FGA package provides methods for computations with finitely
generated subgroups of free groups.
It allows you to (constructively) test membership and conjugacy, and to compute
free generators, the rank, the index, normalizers, centralizers, and
intersections where the groups involved are finitely generated subgroups of
free groups.
In addition, it provides generators and a finite presentation for the
automorphism group of a finitely generated free group and allows to write any
such automorphism as word in these generators.
