Description: Ruby C bindings to the excellent Yajl JSON stream-based parser
library
This is part of a set of dependencies for rubygem-chef. I've got about 14
packages to add, all ruby gems, and am looking for a sponsor. Several of the
packages were previously in Fedora (F11 and F12), but were removed due to lack
of a maintainer.

Description:
== Segmentation of vascular segments (or other anatomical structures) from
medical
images:
Gradient-based 3D level sets segmentation. A new gradient computation
modality based on upwind finite differences allows the segmentation of small
(down to 1.2 pixels/diameter) vessels.
Interactive level sets initialization based on the Fast Marching Method.
This includes a brand new method for selecting a vascular segment comprised
between two points automatically ignoring side branches, no parameters
involved.
Segmenting a complex vascular tract comes down to selecting the endpoints of a
branch, letting level sets by attracted to gradient peaks with the sole
advection term turned on, repeating the operation for all the branches and
merging everything in a single model.
== Geometric analysis and surface data processing of 3D models of blood vessels
(and tubular objects in general)((The key algorithms have been published on
medical imaging journals. You can find a complete reference to publications at
David Steinman's and Luca Antiga's homepages)):
Compute centerlines and maximal inscribed sphere radius of branching
tubular
structures given their polygonal surface representation
Split surface models into their constitutive branches based on centerline
geometry
Compute centerline-based geometric quantities (such as bifurcation angles,
planarity, symmetry, branch curvature, tortuosity) and surface-based geometric
quantities (such as distance to centerlines, surface curvature, deviation from
tangency to maximal inscribed spheres)
Robustly map branches to a rectangular parametric space
Generate rectangular patches based on the parametric mapping for
statistical
analysis of geometric and CFD data over populations.
== Scripts, I/O tools and simple algorithms to easily work with images and
meshes:
Read and write a number of image, surface and volume mesh formats. Includes
a DICOM series reader with auto-flipping capabilities, Netgen mesh format
reader, libMesh xda mesh format writer, Tetgen mesh generator wrapper, FIDAP
FDNEUT mesh format reader and writer and a Newtetr input file generator
Display images and meshes
Incapsulate several VTK classes and make them available as pipeable scripts
(e.g. Marching Cubes, surface smoothing, clipping, normal computation,
connectivity, subdivision, distance between surfaces, ICP registration)
Add cylindrical extensions to surface model boundaries as a preprocessing
step for CFD simulations.
Generate boundary layers of prismatic elements with varying thickness for
CFD

(mainly two dimensional) that has been designed with efficiency in mind. If you
want to draw nice figures for inclusion in a scientific article, you’d better
use matplotlib. If you want to have a sense of what’s going on in your
simulation while it is running, then maybe glumpy can help you.

Description:
logkeys is a linux keylogger (GNU/Linux systems only). It is no more advanced
than other available linux keyloggers, but is a bit more up to date, it doesn't
unreliably repeat keys and it should never crash your X. All in all, it just
seems to work. It relies on event interface of the Linux input subsystem. Once
set, it logs all common character and function keys, while also being fully
aware of Shift and AltGr key modifiers. It works with serial as well as USB
keyboards.

Description:
This is a minimalist MPD client with support for the gnome-shell indication
system and multimedia keys. It is easily configurable and can launch a more
featured client when needed.
It depends on:
python-dbus (dbus-python in some systems)
python-notify
python-mpd
python-keybinder (not needed if using Gnome)
For its normal operation, indimpc requires a notifications daemon, hopefully
with support for action-icons, body-markup and persistence (gnome-shell is
recommended). If there is no instance of gnome-settings-daemon running, it will
fallback to python-keybinder to grab the multimedia keys.

* is free, stable and open source allowing me to cast off the shackles of
commercial, licensed software.
* supports non-English multi-byte character sets.
* runs on all major operating systems (*NIX, OsX, Windows).
* runs not only on a desktop computer but also on a web server so I can access
my bibliography from any networked point or share my bibliography with my
research team.
* allows multiple attachments for each bibliographic resource.
* can export my bibliography in various bibliographic styles (APA, Chicago,
IEEE for example).
* allows me to edit or create bibliographic styles through a graphical
interface.
* integrates a WYSIWYG word processor with easy importation of quotes etc. so
that at long last I can write an article, from draft through to publication
with automatic citation formatting, entirely within the one software.
* at the click of a mouse button will reformat my article to another citation
style whether that style uses footnotes, endnotes or in-text citation.
