Name : anacron
Product : Fedora 9
Version : 2.3
Release : 61.fc9
URL : http://packages.debian.org/stable/source/anacron
Summary : A cron-like program that can run jobs lost during downtime
Description :
Anacron (like `anac(h)ronistic') is a periodic command scheduler.
It executes commands at intervals specified in days. Unlike cron, it
does not assume that the system is running continuously. It can
therefore be used to control the execution of daily, weekly and
monthly jobs (or anything with a period of n days), on systems that
don't run 24 hours a day. When installed and configured properly,
Anacron will make sure that the commands are run at the specified
intervals as closely as machine-uptime permits.
This package is pre-configured to execute the daily jobs of the Red
Hat Linux (or Fedora) system. You should install this program if your
system isn't powered on 24 hours a day to make sure the maintenance
jobs of other Red Hat Linux (or Fedora) packages are executed each day.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Name : stk
Product : Fedora 9
Version : 4.3.1
Release : 6.fc9
URL : http://ccrma.stanford.edu/software/stk/
Summary : Synthesis ToolKit in C++
Description :
The Synthesis ToolKit in C++ (STK) is a set of open source audio
signal processing and algorithmic synthesis classes written in the C++
programming language. STK was designed to facilitate rapid development
of music synthesis and audio processing software, with an emphasis on
cross-platform functionality, realtime control, ease of use, and
educational example code. The Synthesis ToolKit is extremely portable
(it's mostly platform-independent C and C++ code), and it's completely
user-extensible (all source included, no unusual libraries, and no
hidden drivers). We like to think that this increases the chances that
our programs will still work in another 5-10 years. In fact, the
ToolKit has been working continuously for about 10 years now. STK
currently runs with realtime support (audio and MIDI) on Linux,
Macintosh OS X, and Windows computer platforms. Generic, non-realtime
support has been tested under NeXTStep, Sun, and other platforms and
should work with any standard C++ compiler.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name : nagios-plugins
Product : Fedora 8
Version : 1.4.13
Release : 4.fc8
URL : http://nagiosplug.sourceforge.net/
Summary : Host/service/network monitoring program plugins for Nagios
Description :
Nagios is a program that will monitor hosts and services on your
network, and to email or page you when a problem arises or is
resolved. Nagios runs on a Unix server as a background or daemon
process, intermittently running checks on various services that you
specify. The actual service checks are performed by separate "plugin"
programs which return the status of the checks to Nagios. This package
contains those plugins.
